Field Analysis
TECMETAL is prepared to analyze materials in a non-destructive manner. With a well-trained team and portable equipment (for metallography and hardness testing), it is possible to characterize metallic materials in the field in order to assess the causes of damage formation, assist in integrity and life extension analyses, as well as develop repair procedures.
Metallurgical Failure Analysis
Metallurgical failure analysis of a component or equipment allows the determination of the performance loss mechanism - BRITTLE FRACTURE, DUCTILE FRACTURE, FATIGUE, CREEP, CORROSION or WEAR - providing indications that relate the failure to material, manufacturing, design, or usage issues.
This analysis relies on standard materials characterization techniques, as well as damage characterization, mainly fractographic analysis.
